Why doesn't lj have more Fallout love? The fandom seems almost absent, in English at least, outside of fanfiction.net, and, well...the variety of sources for most of my other fandoms has spoiled me. Tho there is one author whose series is one of the best I've read in any fandom, while containing nearly all my Vaultie Sue pet peeves: Mopps. S/he's actually made me love a spunky-virgin-finds-true-love story, dammit. Since I've played every pixel of Fallout 3, Sims 3 has once again gone crash-to-desktop fail, Dead Space scares the vinegar out of me, and Bioshock gives me migraines, I've been taking refuge in Saboteur. Which is growing on me, but...the POV character is supposed to be Mr Oirish O'Awesome, and he's such a lunk! He loves drinking and boobies and gets plenty of both because he's a Real Man. Which, sigh, it's a video game...got to tolerate a narrow definition of "adult" if I want to blow shit up. I just miss playing a big strong girl in power armor, the one who's father casually asks, "Honey, can you pop into the abandoned lab and clear out the dozens of 12-foot-tall Super Mutants so it's safe for us scientists to move in, 'kay thanks!"
